Mk 3 rear footwell wet

Featured Replies

Hi,

Had a problem where I've been finding water getting into the passenger rear footwell carpet,

Originally thought it was the door seal , started a topic here

I've done abit of investigating since and found the seala to be good , but the bottom or the passenger door to be wet, asif water may possibly be leaking through the door and coming ou the bottom of the door card.

Has anyone had anything like this before?

I'm thinking about taking the doorcard off on a dry day, and running the hosepipe over the car to see if it is coming  through the door,

Is the door card hard to get off and back on?

Really struggling to diagnostic problem at the minute.

Have a look in the boot, especially under the spare wheel. They suffer with the vents behind the bumper letting water in and filling up.

I've had a look under the boot carpet, spare wheel, under the rear seats, its all bone dry.

I put a microfiber cloth on the door sill, inside the car, and it catches the water before it gets to the carpet. Its defiantly coming from the door, its just hard to pinpoint how its getting through.
