Silly question, but if there are no warning lights, how do you determine the car has gone into 'limp mode'? Does it simply lose power or what other symptoms occur?

Theres no warning lights to tell me there is a problem just Loses power and engine cuts out into limpmode

Which engine is it?

You'll probably need a Ford specific diagnostic.  Generic OBD is unlikely to hold any fault codes without the EML on.
