Dead car, please help.

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have 2019 focus 1.5 ecoboost. Obviously full keyless entry etc.

Today I noticed my key fob doesn't work. Tried the spare, same thing.

Got into car using the key inside the fob, no dash lights at all, no alarm, nothing, totally dead.

With it not turning on I couldn't even disable the hand brake to bump start but that's not possible anyway as it's on an incline.

Is this a dead battery as I reckon the dash should be on when I open the door.

What is the cheapest way to resolve this issue? I may have to get a mobile mechanic to jump start it as I have no idea how to do those things.

Please help guys

Thanks

It's only a computer after all - try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and see if it comes back to life.

Dead /depleted battery. If it's not being used much then more likely, or if it is perhaps something was left on overnight or is draining the battery.

Hi I'll try to dc the battery.

Yeah the car has hardly been used for a while tbh. Nothing left on, I can't think of anything that could be left on. Lights are automatic, radio turns off when car turned off and locked etc.
