Gazza81
⁸Hi, just signed up to get some help Ive got a 2008 fusion, just noticed the water was empty so filled with coolant, went for a spin to let it warm up and its leaking from underneath, i cant see any obvious pipe leaks but can hear a slight hissing from the coolant tank slightly. Ive filmed it but its too big to upload By the way i barely know what im doing so anything too tricky it will have to go to a garage but hoping i can save my self a few quid Thanks
Paulkp
We have a 2007 Fiesta and a 2010 Fusion, and I have replaced header tanks on both. They were both showing stress marks and bulges. It might be the cap, but tank is cheap and easy to change.
peppermiller
Might well be worth checking the water pipes under the fuel filter. On the diesels they do have a habit of cracking. Did my one as a preventative measure. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RADIATOR-WATER-MANIFOLD-INTAKE-HOSE-PIPE-FOR-FORD-FUSION-FIESTA-MKV-1-4-TDCi-/333310962788#vi-ilComp
billyboy
The only water leak that I've had on my diesel Fusion is the thermostat housing, it's plastic and prone to warping but I believe it's been modified now so once it's been replaced it shouldn't need doing again. I couldn't see the leak but I could smell the antifreeze coming up from the back of the engine.
unofix
I guess after 2 months his car has now ran out of coolant and the leak has stopped.
