Car chimes every half hour but I don't know why and the car doesn't tell me! Jump to Latest

Featured Replies

I have a 69 plate Focus Active X, Auto 1.0ltr EcoBoost and it has just started chiming and I don't know why.
Excellent car, no worries. When doors or boot not closed properly the car chimes and lets me now what the issue is. Same for unclear accident warning and sensors.
However in the last month it chimes on start up with no indication what so ever what I have got wrong. After 5 chimes it stops, and exactly every half hour it chimes again, no faults indicated, no seatbelt warning or doors open. Tried everything to mute these chimes but it just repeats every half hour. Frustrating as it doesn't show any indication whereas regular issues crop up with full detail. Any ideas folks, please? I am so confused as the garage might be OK on the mechanics , but not on the fancy electronics or the Ford Pass App.
Thanks

Thanks Alex. Will give them a call but I don't think its the app but the car.  It only started after I had to trickle charge the battery. This lockdown and no long journeys drained the battery which is always running to support all that it does while parked including communication with the App. Grateful for your answer.

One tip. If you don't already, make sure you force stop the app from running on your device as it will communicate with the car when open thus causing the modem to use battery power.

That's not necessary.

The car communicates with Ford servers, not directly with the app.

This doesn't sound like it's got anything to do with FordPass though.

I'd get it back to a dealer and let them check it out.

See Mileage Remaining Chime. Same problem but going off every minute! OP thinks it's a false fuel remaining warning. If you find the problem, always useful to come back and let us all know.
