has anyone ever fitted mondeo/smax/galaxy convers+ clocks into a focus mk2 or cmax mk1? the physical fitment is the same i just wondered about electrical wise. i have access to programming pats/ecu's etc so thats no problem

    This is never going to work without major modifications.

    The Mondeo / S-Max / Galaxy instrument cluster is connected to the MS (Mid Speed) CANbus network. The Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument cluster is connected to the HS (High Speed) CANbus network. Apart from this on the Focus MK2/MK2.5 the PATS (immobilizer) system is integrated into the instrument cluster and the PCM. On the Mondeo / S-Max / Galaxy the PATS system is integrated into the BCM and the PCM.

     

    To make this work a custom developed/build CANbus interface is required that has the following capabilities:

    * Simulating the presence of the Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument cluster.
    * Full support of the PATS system. The CANbus interface needs to have the same PATS capabilities as the Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument cluster.
    * CANbus conversion. The CANbus interface needs to convert all Focus MK2/MK2.5 HS-CANbus communication to the correct Mondeo / S-Max / Galaxy MS-CANbus communication. This will require a lot of research and probably Months of reverse engineering of the CANbus systems of both vehicle types.
