Huge bass needs huge power!! Help!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, would like to wish you all well! I'm after some advice. I own a 2007 mk2 ford focus 1.6 Ghia petrol. I have built a ported subwoofer box for 2 12" edge subwoofers (barely fits in the boot lol!) . The speakers are in total 9000 watts (3000rms). I have a leisure battery, With the amps in the spare wheel location. with a split charge system. Running off a 300 amp fuse. Problem is the alternators packed in. I really need help here. What do i do? i have a 150 amp bosch alternator coming tommorow just to get me going again. i know this isn't a long term solution. From what i have read so far the standard alt i 120amps. The pcm can only output up to 150amps? Is it possible to go over this limit? My freind has a mk1 focus with a alternator off a ice cream van at 220amps. I pressume he doesnt have smart charge system on that vehicle though. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read this. Is it the end of my bass dreams?

Are you a member of the band Disaster Area?

Might be worth asking on a specialist ICE forum like TalkAudio?
