Bit of a strange one here had the alternator changed on my 2010 focus and since then it's had a few problems, clock isn't holding its time and the central locking won't work off the fob. Checked fuse 106 and that's fine so not sure what else to check with the clock problem. The central locking I've changed the fob battery cant pair the fob with the car as its keyless entry and the key must be paired as it still opens the doors if I lock it with the key some times it auto locks and sometimes it doesn't garage adamant it must of been like that 😤 any help please

You can try disconnecting the minus battery terminal for a while then reconnect it back or checking the leads to see if any are loose and just hope it's not the instrument cluster at fault.

Yeah tried that and cleaned up the earth cable would the instrument cluster give this type of faults as the display is still clear and it's not cutting out. Yes it was a garage that done the work knew I should of done it myself

Are you setting the clock though the radio or the cluster?

For the key problem...

Cheers il give it a go in the morning and let you no how it gos thanks

Hi, just to confirm what Focue has alreay posted. You can programme your keyfobs using the method posted even for cars with keyless start/stop.

If your car is a manual, then do not press the clutch pedal (if your car is automatic, then do not press the brake pedel) and just use the start button as if you were turning the key to the ignition position.

The keys we be learnt by the car and all will be back to normal. The reason the keyless entry still works is because inside your keyfob is a transponder chip which is being read by the car as you get near to it. In a sence your keyfob is two independant key systems in one fob.

So scanned the car today and I'm getting, audio control module u0155 and ignition key compare failure b159a, any ideas where to head next 😥😥😥

Very unlucky for it not to work, but there are so many software updates its to be expected. Looks like a trip to the main dealer to have them re-entered back in to the cars brain, unless you know someone with the appropriate PC and software.

The most likely cause of the car forgetting the keys is simply that when you had the alternator replaced they would have had the battery disconnected for a number of hours which can cause keys to become lost from the cars memory. I don't think you are looking at the start of a bigger problem just the the end of the alternator problem, don't give up the reprogramming should take a dealer no more than 10 minuets.

In the mean time will ask about if anyone knows of an alternative way to programme the keys yourself.

It's got a few fault codes that have shown up going to take the fuse box apart under the bonnet to night and have a look for water ingress

Just and up date removed all fuses and fuse box cleaned and reassembled and no change, so the next thing would be that the cluster is starting to fail or am I missing somthing
