How long are maps and sync updates free?

Also, I was informed by a Ford employee that software and map upgrades are free (until the company decides otherwise)(At least in Europe).

When I got my current Focus in Feb 2018, it was just over a year old (Dec '16 reg). I was driving back from picking it up at the dealers, down the M6 to the M1 junc and the satnav told me to keep right to go on to the southbound M1. I was impressed at how the mapped zoomed in to show the lanes of the junction and where I should be. I wasn't impressed at the fact that for at least the last 2 years you had to be keeping to the left lane to go south on the remodeled junction! It was over a year after that before I was able to get a map update.

Depends on your year of make, my 67 plate is still on sync 3 and no chance of 3.4. But let's all cheer I do have F9 maps so after three lets all empty our lungs.

Updates should be free!  It’s an almighty Faff to do it via usb.  For should be paying us to do it.
