Ford Kuga 2010 engine malfunction

Can anyone help me.

I was driving home today and the engine malfunction came up on my dashboard but the car drives fine and no issues at all.

But a few months ago I did have a new alternator and battery changed.

But I was told by a previous Kuga owner that these things do happen randomly with no actual fault.

Is there any suggestions that can be helping me or what to expect.

I know there are some good people on here, but saying you have an engine malfunction without giving a specific fault code is completely useless to everyone.

You need to read the fault codes and come back.
