Ford Focus engine malfunction after oil change

Featured Replies

I have a 2009 Ford focus 2.0 TDCI. We changed its oil, at first it started up then we parked it on our lot then the next day when we came to use it, it wont start. We scanned it and we found the p0606 code which says pcm processor fault. We checked all of its electronics and it didn't have an issue. We even tried reprogramming on forscan by getting the as built data on motorcraftservice.com

I think our only choice is to replace our pcm

Now, these are my questions before i purchase and reprogram a pcm

1.) I found pcms' on ebay and found that all of it came from a manual transmission. Mine is a 6 speed automatic powershift. Can I get a pcm that came from a manual transmission and reprogram it using the as built data on my old pcm? And also use it on the same car?

2.) Are there different solutions to this problem?

it would be much appreciated if these questions are answered with a little explanation.
