Joey1974
I have a 2007 2.0 tdci with egr blanking plate fitted for over 6 months and over the last couple of weeks it's started to judder and hesitate at about 1800rpm, yesterday It was the worst it's been ! Was thinking of changing the fuel filter to see if that makes a difference Any help would be appreciated
F0CUE
I would go with the cheaper option first but it can be many things like injectors, fly wheel, boosts leaks or even the turbo. Best to get a code reader if the filter change doesn't help.
Joey1974
Yeah have scanned it with an odb reader using two apps which both say different one says egr valve getting to hot , this could be because of the blanking plate and the other said maf sensor . Going to try another app today which had good reviews. Did wonder about the injectors but wouldn't that cause problems when you boot it ? F0CUE
Hmm have you tried giving the maf a Clean? Bad injectors you would get surging and bucking under various throttle loads.
Joey1974
Didn't know you could clean the maf tbh . Did another scan earlier and just comes up with the egr fault probably because of the blanking plate Was going to do another scan while driving it later just to see if it picks anything up when it's under load
TomsFocus
I'd remove the EGR blank personally. The MAF readings will seem wrong if the PCM thinks the EGR is open but there's still the same amount of airflow through the MAF. I've never seen an overheating EGR code though, sure it wasn't DPF too hot?
Joey1974
Sorry said high not hot will do another scan later and upload the details

Joey1974
On the way home EML went out and still run lumpy when holding it at 1800 rpm , went back out earlier and the EML light came back on . Will remove the blanking plate tomorrow and see what happens then .

If so, it won't make any difference whether you have a blank or not, and cleaning won't help either. It would either need a replacement part or mapping out of the PCM. In this particular case, Forscan will probably just give you a similar code or something like 'EGR Frozen'. It's always worth checking though.
