Mk4 - cabin noise

Featured Replies

When the car is off and stopped , there's a very audible noise that seems to be a lock or something from time to time . If you stay 15 minutes , you can hear it 3 or 4 times.

It's not the doors , the noise seems to come from the drive wheel or near it .

What is that ?

I think it's the flap at the front that changes the airflow if the car is hot/cold

It's not that , as it makes the noise even if it's parked for several days.

Is it the airbag check ? Is it the imobilizer ?

Any guess ?

( Sorry... Coming from a mk2 focus , way less techy than my current mk4 ... )

Might be the electronic steering lock if it's near the wheel.  Though I don't know why it would happen repeatedly.
