Help: Whooshing sound from clutch

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have only just noticed that when I disengage the clutch in my Ford Focus hatchback 2011, a slight whooshing sound seems to come from the area around the clutch pedal.

This only seems to happen in gear 1 and in reverse and only when the car is in motion (I don't hear the sound when I am stood idle).

On older models, I have heard that this can be caused by the MPG gauge, however mine is electronic and displays in the dash computer.

The vehicle up to this point has 190 000km on the clock and after getting the car looked at by a mechanic, I was advised that the clutch should last another 30-40k.

Any ideas as to what this noise could be would be much appreciated?

Thanks!
