Focus MK3 ST leaking Radiator

Hi all,

Has anyone had any issues with the radiator leaking?

it was picked up today when it was in for MOT!

I have seen peeps saying they get a hole in the back of it somehow. Ford charge well over a grand to renew them with labour you would be best going aftermarket with local garage fitting.

Just don't be tempted to try radseal or any other bodged repair methods involving inserting junk into the expansion tank. It may well block the leak, but will also block the tiny passageways in the engine needed for cooling.

If you're struggling to get hold of a radiator then there's some good aluminium performance ones for these engines (not that it will make any difference to cooling/performance on the road).

Ford want £600 to do it. Finding out if it’s covered on warranty first before I do anything.

No I won’t be bodging it. I will probably end up replacing it my self. It’s hard to tell where it’s coming from with out a pressure test.

Ford have replaced the radiator under my extended warranty which is a result.
