AVR2
I need to get the oil separator off my 2.0L Zetec (from a 2002 Maverick) to fix the leaking gasket. While it's off, is there any kind of cleaning or flushing process for it? It's a discontinued part (although Ford does still sell the gaskets) and there don't seem to be aftermarket versions, so it's not like I can get a brand-new one anyway. There are people on eBay selling "refurbished" separators. They've been cleaned externally and repainted, and they've fitted new grommets and PCV valves, but I have no idea what they've done to the internals (if anything).
