Dropped bolt is it needed?

Hi, I was unscrewing a bolt in my car boot to remove a cable but I actually drop the bolt into the car. Dunno where it's gone tho. Does it need to be retrieved or can I leave it? 

The bolt was located on the left side of the inside of the boot up near the top where the shelf sits.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There's dozens of bolts in the boot of your car, you need to be more specific.

There is generally a reason why it's there though, you should really try and find it.
