Hi, so the battery on our key lock keeps dieing and ford garage are charging silly money just to open and close it with a new batt ....that then dies again in a year.

Does anyone know how to get to the battery bc there seems no way to open the key itself. and ofc which battery i need!?

TIA

Please post a picture of your key and we will be able to help. It should only take a couple of minutes to change the battery which in most Ford keys is a CR2032.

Instructions (with illustrations) on how to change the key battery can be found in the owners handbook. You can download a copy from the owners area of the Ford UK website if you don't have a hard copy.

Just replaced both mine which were CR2032 - most Fords use the same as Unofix mentions.
