Galaxy59
Hi I have a 13 plate s max. There is a red button with what looks an alternator sign on it, by the handbrake. Any ideas what it's for please?? Thanks in advance
Luke4efc
That's the engine management symbol. I've never seen it on a button like that though.

TomsFocus
I don't think that's standard. Possibly something like this - Universal 12V Dash Indicator Light 1 Red Check Engine Logo 1/2" Chrome Ring | eBay
unofix
It looks like it might have been a previous owner "add on" but very well done. I could offer a dozen guesses what its for but I don't actually know. Is your car Petrol or Diesel? Does the button stay down when pressed or is it just a momentary button ? I hope you find the answer as I'd love to know what it does.

Once pressed it flashes, I had to turn the ignition of and neck on to get it to stop.
