Emergency keyless backup start location.

Hi does anyone know how to start the car if you get the "key not detected" message?  I've discovered there should be an emergency backup way of starting, but can only find info for the Fiesta. 

Only on week three of owning my Puma!  I could lock and unlock the doors ok, but the engine wouldn't start due to it not detecting the key.  Also been having intermittent issues not being able to open the automatic tailgate with my foot motion. After a lot of faffing locking and unlocking the doors the ignition eventually started. As soon as I was able, I swapped to the spare key. 

Anyone else experienced this issue with the key?
