It does however now come standard with the multi-link independent rear suspension in MY21..

Ok, almost whole range here is torsion beam. So previously in Oz it came with torsion beam but now IRS?
IRS was one of the reasons I ordered my STLX, realised it didn’t have it (ford quietly dropped it) after ordering , seriously considered cancelling the order. I really like the car but I’d say the dependent suspension is noticeable.

Yes I think it was planned to launch it here with IRS, but it didn't come until MY21. I actually waited 6 months longer to order because they announced IRS would be included in the next MY.

I actually had it confirmed in writing that my order had IRS (and also build date 2021, not just MY or compliance date) - because there was some confusion in Australia about when IRS was to be included.

Yeah reviews say the torsion beam system is very good but IRS will be nice to have and I look forward to trying it out - never had it before. My current 2004 Nissan Pulsar has the simplest straight-girder axle possible - if it twists it's by accident 😄

Sales of the Focus have dropped again in Australia in the last quarter, so there's a chance I might be getting one of the last ones if they cancel it. If they do I might have to rely on parts from Europe eventually... I hope to keep it for 10+ years.

(Ford Australia have hardly promoted the Focus even though Australian reviewers highly praise its handling and dynamics. Early reviews complained about the shift selection delay with D and R - I hope that's improved with later builds.)

The original link in OP, and link on the Ford website, has now gone back to the 25th March version, Vignale-less.

Bye Vignale! 😄

🙄 they can't make they're mind up. Some previously standard stuff took off Titanium too (puddle Lamps and Wireless Charging)

By the time I come to replace my Focus it will be with a Mustang - The horse that is, not the car !
