Mk 7 front bumper

Hello all. This is my daughters car and we have hit a problem... well my daughter hit a fox to be fair and its cracked the front bumper and theres a mounting bracket in the underside inside area that has smashed off.

our question is... how easy is it to get a second hand colour matched bumper of get a pattern part sprayed to match.. and are they relatively simple to remove and replace... Any help would be great and we live in South Derbyshire area

The mk7 fiesta is a very popular car, so as long as you don't have one of the uncommon paint colours, you should be able to find second hand bumpers relatively cheap. Fitting I'd pretty easy too, certainly no harder than any other car to remove.

Aftermarket bumpers are up to £100 delivered. If the grill has smashed that's another £60 or so.

Thanks. This is the bumper. Its a mk 7 am I right ? 

and the loweer grill below the VRM plate is smashed too

Yeah it's a mk6.5/7

Mk6.5 is the previous style of body, the car pictured is a mk7 by uk numbering but sometimes listed as a mk VI (Roman numeral 6) as uk uses different numbers for fiestas than some other countries.

Personally I wouldn’t bother replacing it unless it is unsafe eg in danger of falling off. And even then I’d try a repair eg some metal plate bolted on behind it. You might replace and find paint shade/colour/glossyness varies and wish you hadn’t bothered. Is it really worth doing?

I'm always a bit iffy about fitting second hand red panels as the colour is really bad for fading in sunlight. If one car has been well looked after and the paintwork sealed, where as the other has never seen a soap sud in it's life, then you're going to have to do a lot of polishing to get the colour match right.

The damage doesn't look too bad. If it was me repairing it I'd be plastic welding and skimming over the crack with some filler before respraying it. Obviously you'll have to get a new chrome piece, there's nothing you can do to save that.

Sure you could buy a patten bumper, but they always arrive with little scrapes anyway that need filling over. It's not much more effort to fix the genuine Ford one you already have.
