fladavid
Hi. Today my 61 plate Focus information panel said my dipped beam bulb had blown. I looked on YouTube to see how to change it and in 5 videos they extracted a bulb that was one piece with a plastic 90° connector attached,an H11 bulb they said. I then looked in my handbook and Ford say the dipped beam bulb is an H7 bulb. Can anyone please tell me which is the correct bulb before I go out tomorrow to buy and change it to save me taking out the headlamp to see before putting it back to go get it? Dave. mjt
Should be a H7. The H11 is used in the fogs I think.
ScaniaPBman
If you haven't done one recently, just a tip. When you are finished check the beam pattern is the same left and right, it is possible to get the H7 in but not quite positioned correctly giving a distorted dipped beam. I know because I have done just that, it's really easy to do! Close by is the local police station and there is one patrol car I see frequently, it has the left headlight dazzling me in the rear view mirror most likely for this very reason. Probably best not to knock his window at the traffic lights and explain that his headlamps are dodgy. ScaniaPBman.

The only way that happens is if you place the bulb into the electrical connector then clip it in. To avoid that place the bulb into the headlight first with the tab upwards then click the connector onto it.
fladavid
Think I have an H7 in the bulb kit I bought for the car. I'll check the beam too. Thanks.
fladavid
Yes it was an H7,I can only assume that the H11 is the full beam bulb. The new bulb didn't work at first but I noticed the metal connectors inside the plastic connector were slightly loose so I bent them over a little and that did the trick.
