I hope to be buying a 2018/2019 focus automatic later in the year, not sure which variant yet. 

I've been reading some threads here with folk having hassles with speed recognition signs and other fancy gadgets, driver assist packages etc. Are they really worth the hassle & extra expense when buying the car? 

How many focus drivers disable these features? 

Saving a few bucks by not having these features is beginning to appeal to me.  Auto climate a/c would do me fine. 

 

Each to their own really...  If there are any particular gadgets you want, they're often bundled in with other things you probably don't want.

Speed sign display is standard as a legal requirement now.  

Climate control is only standard on Titanium, Titanium X or ST-Line X so you'll end up with a bit of spec.  (Plus Vignale, but I'm guessing you're not after one of those.)

If you're as follically challenged as I am, I'd recommend avoiding the panoramic roof option!

Thanks Tom, bad memories from years back with sun roof car and also being follicaly challenged. 🥵 No panoramic roofs (lesson learned) or vignale. 

Theres no need to disable the stop start as it does that itself after a couple of days and most other  things just have the settings set to low so it doesn't get intrusive. Seem to work for me.

Driver's assistance pack are all features that the driver has to turn on to use, except auto high beam. (adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist etc)
