Is this correct spark plug gap?

Featured Replies

I'm changing plugs putting in iridium types are the gaps set at factory? If not is it 0.05? Thanks

They are usually pre measured before leaving the factory, however due the shipment of the product it’s a possibly they have been pumped around and have bent them out of shape.

as for the gap I believe they very, best bet would to check the owners manual to see what they recommend the gap size to be.

I use to set them at 1.2 mm = 0.047 on my old Focus

I was thinking 0.05mm seemed a little tight!!

Hi Tom, if I remember correctly the recommended gap was 1.3mm but read somewere, may be on here, to reduce it to 1.1 - 1.2mm to reduce the load on the coil.

Yes 1.2mm is about right, I initially read the first post as 0.05mm, not inches lol!
