Focus 2008 1.8 zetec (Duratec HE) water pump

Hi, just to ask if changing the water pump is something that an amateur like myself can replace over a weekend or is it a little involved? Also am I correct in saying that my 1.8 has a timing chain not belt?

Haynes gives the job 4 out of 5 spanners for difficulty. Amongst other things it says the aircon compressor belt needs to be cut off and renewed using a special tool (that's included with the kit I think). If you haven't got a manual I'd recommend getting, or borrowing, one to judge for yourself.

You are correct, the 1.8HE engine has a timing chain.
