Ford Focus 2010 TDCi 1.6 EGR question

Featured Replies

Good day fellow Ford owners,

A couple of months ago I've changed my EGR cause the previous one was inactive and the check engine light was always on my dashboard. I bought an affordable one off eBay and I think i'm having some issues with it. Many times while I'm driving I can feel that I'm losing power and the acceleration pedal becomes slightly stiff, and regardless how hard I press on it, I keep losing power (especially on hills). The only short fix I've found is to turn off the engine for a few seconds and then the car goes back to normal, but eventually go back to feeling stuffed and slow.

A mechanic recommended to change the EGR to a one that Ford suggests to use. I'm not sure which one are those, could you guys give me a hand and tell me which brands should I be looking for?

Thank you!
