Fitting one of these charger things, was going the cigarette lighter point, then remembered i'd read somewhere about using the vacant tabs either side of the heated screen buttons. Popped to check, and even tho they do nothing theyre wired up, can i just pull the plugs and push back in the hole ??????????? may as well while ive got the central section out to fit a DAB unit. what would be there otherwise ?

    Well it depends on what the wiring was intended for. Is it constant live? ignition switched live? Live only when the headlights are on ?

    You need to test with a multi-meter to find out what the status is. Remember that the wires may not be big enough to supply a high current.

    i just used the cig socket wires straight to the usb unit easy peasy
