Escort calypso cabriolet for sale

Increasingly rare ford Escort calypso cabriolet 1996 ,mark 6, 1600 in zinc yellow for sale. 1.6 Zetec engine. 15 inch ford alloy wheels. Electric Carmen gear hood. Interior is clean with faux wood detailing around dash, gear stick, radio/CD and steering wheel cover. MOT till Oct but only done a few miles since last MOT. Electric front windows. Body work is in good condition for its age. No rot on wheel arches. 2 small bubbles of rust on driver's door. Sills are solid but require rubbing down and repainting due to stone guard coating beginning to lift. 

The car is a great runner and despite the number of times I have had it stored, it still starts first time, every time, however the battery does now need the aid of a booster to get it started. On start up the car peeters slightly due to choke sensor sticking, which is a typical Escort fault. If you turn of the engine for couple of seconds and then restart the problems cleared and car drives beautifully. 

The car had a slight water leak in the passenger foot well so I had to take out the sound proofing in order to fix problem. There is no longer a leak but never got round to fitting new sound proofing. (I have the material which can be sold separately).

The car has a canvas Karmen gear electric roof which is in great working order. There is a slight split on the seam on the rear window panel, which just needs re-stitching. It is due to age and use of the hood, not due to rips or slashes.

Unfortunately after 91,000 miles of happy motoring I am having to part with her as, sadly like the car I am now a classic too! It has always flown threw MOTs and has never given me any major issues. It would be perfect for someone with the time and youthful body to restore her to her glory. Roof down, sun out .... Happy days. 😍
