Door lock switch

Featured Replies

After many months of umming and erring and trying to decide the best place for my door lock switch, wiring instructions taken from here with many thanks to @JPW

I decided to place it here

It's a tight fit but doable. If you take the strip with button on off and remove the Sync fascia you will see that you need to chop some more of the facia away so the button fits. It needs a 19mm hole for the button, if you marry the two fascia parts back up you will see what needs cutting out and where to drill the hole. I went as far into the corner of the indent as possible, just over-lapping by a millimetre, this give you just enough clearance between the switch with loom attached and the radio/CD part of the Sync system, it's a tight fit but it just goes.

The wiring I got from @JPM thread linked above. The only thing to add is I used pin 5 from the FCIM for the negative.

It works, (which is a first for me) and to me it doesn't look too out of place, it seems to fit in.

Is it now possible that you would be able to activate the automatic drive away locking using ForScan ?

I'm not sure, I've never looked into activating it.

You can activate the auto lock in Focccus, had it for years, so will be possible in Forscan if you know the code.

@Mollymoodoo looks great! Nice spot for it.

P.S. Think you tagged the wrong user, JPM not JPW, in your last sentence

🙂

Bugger I can't edit it now. Thanks it looks good in real life, I'm happy with it. I wouldn't have thought of doing it if I hadn't seen you mention it.
