Broken Front/Slam Panel - Focus MK2

Featured Replies

Unfortunately this weekend a deer decided to walk into the road 10 metres from my car, and my car was not left in a good state afterwards. Currently I need to replace the front grille, bonnet, bonnet catch, nearside headlamp, and from what I can tell also the Front/Slam Panel. I have two questions:

1. If the front/slam panel is broken, will that be an MOT failure? My thinking is yes, but just wanted to confirm.

2. If anyone has experience with the replacement of this part, how long roughly does it take to complete, and how complicated is it? I've been unable to find any videos on it, and the ones I have found show basically a total strip down of the front part of the car.

Ideally I'd like to keep the car and replace the necessary parts - all of the ones so far are cheap enough to find in the right colour, and also easy enough to install - however the front panel seems to be a bigger challenge.

If anyone has experience with the replacement of this part, would be happy to hear any pointers/advice you may have.
