MK3 Focus 1.0 AC compressor leak

Featured Replies

Hi. My 2012 Focus has a leak at the compressor. Pics are attached below. When changing the oil today, I got a good look at the location for the first time, and tightened the hex bolt in the pic. It was very easy to turn and I just nipped it up. Could someone let me know if that’s likely to have made any difference (I know bugger all about AC systems) or whether a leak in the area shown is fixable without changing the compressor?

Cheers.

Needs a new compressor. I'm guessing that's not fixable as ford won't list at any seals for that.

Ok, many thanks. Out of interest, what is that bit of the compressor?

It's the controller for the variable vane compressor. Alters the pressure.
