Purchased Front brake disc from authorised ford dealer on eBay. Rates-Ford apparently genuine. Two identical discs cut differently. Came in blank cardboard box direct from manufacturers poorly packaged so damaged. Was wondering if anyone can tell me from these pictures do they look genuine.

    I believe the metal cut off is to balance the discs, so can be different.

    I've always found Rates good for genuine parts, not good that they were not packaged properly.

    Just noticed on 1st photo (unless it's an optical illusion!), looks like a bit of damage to the disc edge. I wouldn't be happy fitting this to my car...

    Hi, yes they are the real deal, genuine Ford discs. As Stephen has already said the groves machined in the edge of the disc are to balance them, just as you add balance weights to your wheels, the discs are balanced by removing metal at the edge.

    Again as Stephen has shown in the photo with the red circle if that is a chip out of the edge then reject the disc.
