I want to convert my auto choke to a manual system with a kit or new carb. has anyone done the same. 1991 1.4 engine  thanks Michael

Hi,

Back in the mists of time (1985!) I fitted a Weber conversion with manual choke to the 1.6 CVH in my Escort Mk 3. It worked very well but can't remember details after all this time.😀

I think Webcon still do carbs for some CVH, could be worth a try:

Hi I wonder if you can help, I’ve got aFord Escort  1600 CVH 1984 with a Weber carb fitted. I’ve just bought this car and I’m having problems with it cutting out. Looking at the fuel lines I think it may have been piped up wrong. Would it be possible to post a picture of your flow and return to the carburettor.
