Water in boot but not in the spare wheel area

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

Had my 2014 MK3.5 ford focus 2 years now, have fixed the common water leak in the spare wheel from the stupid vents, car is bone dry in that area used Tiger Seal "that area will never leak again "lol"

Just couple days ago i saw some water drops on my rubber boot liner and was thinking it was from me open the rear hatch, but this a brand new leak as i have had the rear lights out when i fixed the vents behind the bumper, and i siliconed them back in i was thinking its not coming from there.

Checked them again and re sealed the light hoping it was fixed but no its still leaking, looking at the where the water is on the photos you would point the finger at the rear driver side light "passager side no water drops".

When i removed the lights i saw the little foam ring seal "not the rubber plug" around the wire in light casing was not best of health but this would let water into the light ? not the car.

Extra info on where i have checked for tell tale signs, Inner rear head cloth dry no water marks, under rear seats dry, boot lower level dry, apart from what i have marked up in the images is only the place that as damp water drops, as this has just started i really want to fix this straight away, do i remove the light again ? and make sure its not coming from that area.

Advice pls.
