Mk4 xr3i in-tank fuel pump

Hi,

I have a mk4 xr3i cabriolet and the pump is acting up. I'm finding it difficult to get one as it is an in-tank one rather than the external one.

Would anyone know where I might get one?

I'm still having trouble locating the right pump/sender unit as all the ones I've found have only 1 plug and the original has two. Here's a few pics. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible just to change the pump part of the unit?

Hard to get and not cheap!

If I was desperate I might be tempted to fit an inline electric pump outside of the tank. I assume that if I did that it would suck fuel through the failed pump but I don’t know that for a fact
