Air bag issue

Hi

can someone tell me whether the air bag light by the interior light should stay on permanently please as I thought that they it just comes on when ignition switched on and it  goes off.   Ty

They stay on which is annoying.

There is a light for 'On' and a light for 'Off' no doubt its some european stupidity. On my Focus Mk4 I got some matt black electricians tape and covered the 'On' light. I also did the same for my daughters Ecosport as she found it very distracting at night on dark roads.
