2014 Explorer Radio Swap

I have a 2014 Ford Explorer.  I want XM radio so I got a junk yard radio from the same Explorer.  The plugs are the same.  The radio turns on but will not change channels or provide audio.  I was told to take it to a dealer and they can program it o the vehicle computer.  I spent $118 to do that.  It did not work.  Any ideas how I can get this to work??  Some say the swapped radio must be the same model as the original radio.  That is a Clarion must be a Clarion. My original radio isL PU-3889L-A ( Ford #: EB5T19C107EA.)  I tried to replace and program the DA8-19c107-JD (Ford#: EB5T19C107AB).  That did not seem to do anything.  What do I need to do here?
