mjt
The plastic rectangle around the bottom edge of the gearlever gaiter on my son's Cmax is broken so it will no longer stay clipped into the silver surround. He ordered a new gaiter online (don't know where from) and it came without the plastic rectangle so has been returned. Is it possible to buy the gaiter complete with the plastic rectangle or even get it as a separate part (the gaiter itself doesn't need renewing)? I think he's reluctant to try a breaker in case the replacement proves fragile and breaks again.

TomsFocus
I'm fairly sure the ring isn't available separately. Can't cost much from a breaker so I'd take that risk myself.
mjt
Thanks Tom. It appears it's not even available as part of a new gaiter although I don't know if he ordered from a Ford dealer or third party. I'll pass your comments on and leave it to him to decide. I think I might be able to repair it and have offered to try.
YOG
Are you talking about the plastic frame ring? if so, there are ones on eBay for different years: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303871577242?hash=item46c0284c9a:g:U3wAAOSwswdegwrD https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283832797141?fits=Car+Make%3AFord|Model%3AC-Max&hash=item4215c0c7d5:g:jdQAAOSwrSpegwwA https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283832799820?fits=Car+Make%3AFord|Model%3AC-Max&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item4215c0d24c:g:TZIAAOSw2d5egw0y&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACsPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSwcmzw5CLtzTE60FqHcnq2Ip6rKr1AA5xuyoKztkabFSdWZGeJoNL59awJFutcW2%2FGMzlMLihv736BV%2FfPErJZWhv8TVBZIRvuDANqauySiwFaYyynOenkRftd%2BeLBOXy2WeOcQ8rkGx2LKn89paYRHIEjk05XMB8h%2Bqns2iHMNqGOcVUrhh9RuIHt4%2F7Hf6F89sz%2BjMkGEkoj%2Bvt3bx2KGiBdLTRLzPev7HH1iquQI67S9VTWCwxUUgEItemJna2Tz3zmgcqyUYZLkDanc%2Fw7tQFpS32LENs1rGprYcC3VCZ1fsX51jEQh7IEBHozNB2A1gIxNCbADSQXJlYwdeBYCKp7Jj7EBTCbvjUc8inaTO6mrlYg2qG6KaG7NJWs35gjTnmPEMQJWEThabyIS1uARJjaRJFxBAkbtKt%2BXmnKfCr3fK0Wh6n7Qom3IeCCuXl65szT8ovN3kCkD4bhlH39pKX7muaUr%2BoxIb31WEoNVw3CS7cCvPnl003QPCYqYdLiNrhhrQXtvf5bwuyRydFLpMtFdWm5bAPgfmz9nE0rD3P9l3wqE%2BD%2F%2F%2FBAZoT%2Fk32wWC5kC9wIo8qzoxU0j0Sr4kGQ5bngvwnNEAVe3s0KVAgMTz9GWRKGmqA%2B79jqAoPTQCFmXnb3u6Edtb6AMsft6gAjgHMbRNvikJCQPYPXbKBQ3vGI4idMIkLR0YPiCeuGGq8iddKrE8XdK2nmKH1fyaNHkbYlwOVcAd5bgq80wNVzVfNBe1adHflU%2BV8tez5vclVgthF0ltBE5%2Bhk3aefYCYJCnbkpc6rODc%2F%2BMLVso0McsahFbhP05FQAJMVsMUO23RdJvlk8QU%2FaogEmmrxWgOsPurLW5tByuTXxWS27Q%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524 1
mjt
Thanks Rick, yes that's the part. I think the 2007-2010 is the one he wants. I've sent him the link. Most grateful for the help.
mjt
This project is still on-going. My son wants to detach the gaiter from the gear knob so he can keep using the car whilst he brings the gaiter to me to change the frame ring. He can't see how to separate them and has sent me the attached photo. It looks to me as though the tab I've circled is one of two that's holding them together. Can anyone confirm this please? If so does it need a slim blade to be pushed down behind the tabs to release them?
