Ian Lockley
Is there a way to open the boot while battery is disconnected. Under the ford badge there is a finger bar that releases the lock when battery is connected . I thought it was a manual opener. It released to first catch but boot won't open . 2011 1.6 dtci

I had to do as Lenny describes when the boot lock failed on my Peugeot 309 GTI 30 odd years ago. We 'd just arrived at our holiday cottage and I had to crawl in there to get our stuff!

We 'd just arrived at our holiday cottage and I had to crawl in there to get our stuff! my wife closed the boot on my rain jacket once; in the mk2.5 focus few years ago, the arm of the jacket got caught up in the latch and jammed tight, had to get in to the boot and remove the bottom latch; followed by pressing the boot handle and swinging out of the jacket to pull it free. that was the best Sunday of my life to date.
