Car sluggish

I have a 2009 Ford Focus Tdci. Past few months the car goes sluggish no pick up engine management light comes on but does not go into limp mode, but once at speed cruises nicely. I have had a full service a new EGR, as that what it said when plugged in, maf sensor, map sensor, full diagnostic ran but keeps saying egr even had a full Terra clean on fuel system and dpf but still happening. If I unplug the maf sensor car goes like a dream. Spent about £1000 trying to resolve this but run out of ideas. Any help appreciated. Thanks

And make sure it is the correct EGR. Apparently he original ones were made by Valeo and they are identical to ones fitted to French cars with the same engine, except for the electronic parts and do not work properly when put on Ford cars.

If it was another make then it is even more unlikely to work properly.

There are a few threads on here about problems getting the correct EGR valve, so as John (Tizer) said, that could be the problem. But there is another possibility.

You really should get the actual code (DTC). It is very easy & cheap to read these yourself. Maybe it actually said EGR throttle valve, or something like that. The Throttle valve on the 1.6 is sometimes called that. It is an entirely separate piece of kit, and since it reduces the air flow into the engine if part closed, it is more likely to make the car sluggish than the actual EGR valve.
