Service intervals

Ford's new service regime is very similar to VW Group's variable service which you can opt for as an alternative to fixed annual service and is probably fine for company cars doing a lot of motorway, etc, miles. However, if you take that option they use a different oil which is even more expensive than usual.

What puzzles me about the new Ford recommendations, particularly in respect of cars still using the original "wet belt" 1.0 Ecoboost, is that there have been, from my enquiries, no changes to the engine or the oil to justify them.

Given what we know about missed or delayed oil changes with this engine, an annual oil/filter change seems prudent if you are planning on keeping the car long term.

I agree with you!

As for me, i would like to keep my car for at least 10 years in a good condition, so i would never have any problems from the lack of services.

I change oil and oil filter to mine (Ford Focus ECOBLUE /ZTDA engine / 1,5 lt / 2020 model ) every 8.000-8.500 kms (5.300 miles).

oil is SO EXPENSIVE, we are talking about 250 euros, (including the mechanic's fee) for each oil change to FORD's dealership!

I feel more confident doing that because i have an 8 years warranty and the engine runs with fresh oil all the time, especially the diesel.

The dealership uses FORD Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 type WSS-M2C952-A1,(FORD's suggestion) with 18,80 euros per litre and engine's oil quantity of 6,2lt with filter change.

But if you want to keep it for only 3 to 5 years with the less money spent, you have to simply follow the Ford's maintenance schedule just to keep it with no problems for the time it is still a new one with a low mileage!!!

Problems are going to be shown after the selling of the car, at about 6 to 7 years.

Of course that is my opinion and my pocket!!!! 💰💰

Not all of the people have the money to spent for the same maintenance as i do!

I wish less damages for all of us!!!!

I wish a nice and healthy weekend to all the people on earth!!!

Greetings to all of you from chilled and cloudy Athens/Greece!!!

Hi, looks like service intervals are 2 years apart, although do not do much mileage Is it beneficial to change oil/filter at a year maybe. Ty

on reflection think I might just do an oil/filter change at 1,3,5yrs together with 2 yr ford service as I plan to keep the car.. ty for all replies.

250 is about average for main dealer prices. It's not the oil that is expensive, it's the labour at a main dealer that makes up more than half the cost!
