Horn not working

Help!!! I know it's not the most important thing in the world... But does anyone know how to fix my horn? I've taken off the central part of the steering wheel and thoroughly checked all of the horn connections. Is there any way to check the horn operation with different wiring and a different power source or is there something I might be missing??

By the way, it's an escort Freedom 1.4 mk7.

first check the fuse, you could remove the horn and try a direct feed to it to test. if its ok got to be a wire fault or operating switch

Horn fuse is good and horn relay "clicks" when pressing steering column. New 12 volt battery put in by Ford. Learned the horn did not work when pressing button on key fob and no horn  "sound" to indicate the car was locking. Horn worked before new battery put in. Is there maybe a computer setting needed.

Thanks

Bob

WE HAVE A WINNER !!!!!  🎉

Congratulations @Bethscar you win the 2022 prize for restarting a 13 YEAR OLD post.

Just for your information the Horn does not sound in the UK when the car is locked / unlocked. If you use FORScan you can turn the "chirp" sound on.

If your problem is the horn doesn't work when you press the steering wheel then disconnect the wire from the horn and use a meter to measure if there is any voltage when the button is pressed.
