maximum.bob
How many Fords have I owned? One too many! 😄 Like the OP I've owned a couple of Cortina MK3s the second being a 2.0 GXL which I loved. Some years later I owned a Capri 2.0S until I crashed it into someone's fence, shame really because it was a very nice car. I once owned a Hillman Avenger and if someone who has owned a Hillman Avenger says a particular car is horrible you can be assured they have some knowledge on the subject. My present car is a 09 Smax which is truly horrible and one with which I struggle to find one redeeming feature. When did it all go so wrong for Ford? 2

My present car is a 09 Smax which is truly horrible and one with which I struggle to find one redeeming feature. When did it all go so wrong for Ford? I had an Avenger! It was one of the last, badged as a Chrysler and in a horrible grey-gold kinda colour. It was dreadful - it had a cracked head (or block) and was always overheating. It needed the radiator flushing all the time and when you did loads of gloopy emulsified oil-water mix would come out. One journey I had just about had my fill of this awful car and decided I would take no notice of the temp guage and steam coming from the radiator and carried on driving it all the way home on the A1(M). It got me home but by the time I got there the car was literally "singing" in a really loud whistle that got all the neighbour's curtains twitching. The next journey was to the tip. It was replaced by a Capri.
isetta
I had a mid 70s avenger 1300 which strangely had drum front brakes. Drum front brakes were very rare by mid 70s. It went very well and I liked it apart from when it rained the water built up over the top of the pedals then when I braked I would get a gush of water over my feet. But it seemed quite a good car apart from that. I then had a mk2 capri . It felt like driving a speedboat with that bonnet looming up in front. To be honest I preferred the avenger to drive.

Guest
Mk4 Fiesta with the facelift - first car, an absolute gem, I’d have one again Mk4 Fiesta pre-facelift - cracking little runabout, survived being submerged up to the windows in a bad flood Mk5 Fiesta - crap Mk1 Ka - had at least three as runabouts and they did the job Mk4 Fiesta Zetec S - fantastic little motor, had a lot of fun in it Mk3 Fiesta - brilliant fun Ecosport BK - comfortable and I like it, but feels like more hassle than it’s worth. I think the engine is great though Mk6 Transit - ol’ reliable
Alexis94040
My 2020 MK4 Focus Ecoblue is the first FORD i have ever owned!!! I have had 4 Toyota and all of them were Corolla models (XL'88, XLi 90, G6 and E120) Someone will tel , ''hey why haven't you bought a Toyota again and prefered Ford for your next car after 24 years of driving?'' and my answer is that Toyota stopped making diesel engines at all and i wanted diesel as crazy... I thought that Ford's diesel cars are decent and durable so i gave it a try at 2020. Good night eveerybody!!!
