Kieran67
I liked the look of both models especially the st line trims, however I find the Mk 7 looks more dynamic. I find that the Zetec and Titanium models on the MK 8 make the car look dated. As a person who is into car design I just find it old how a car launched in 2008 can still look more modern in some ways especially in the rear. Even the alloys have been toned down on models below st-line. I've attached some photos below. What are your thoughts on the designs? would be interesting to here others opinions on this? It's hard to believe the facelift Mk 7 is nearly 10 years old.
isetta
Personally I prefer the mk6.5 .
Luke4efc
I don't like the massive lip where the boot lid meets the bumper on the mk8, everything else is growing on me slowly I must admit. The mk7 is starting to look a little dated now. I don't think the funny shaped rear lights are helping either.
Eric Bloodaxe
Interesting question and down to personal opinion of course. Fwiw I quite like the Mk 8 ST, St-Line, and Active, the other versions do nothing for me - preferred the Mk 7/Mk 7.5. Still think the pre-facelift Mk 7 Zetec S, S1600 or Metal in the right colour are the best lookers. Got to get used to the Mk 8.5 now of course - looking forward to actually seeing one! Mavroz
Mk8 St Line X over the Mk7.5 St Line I had any day ... 👍🏻
Tiexen
Inside the Mk8 is much better and that's where you spend most of the time
AlexO
Having owned both, I love the inside of the Mk8 and the front end looks a lot sharper than the Mk7. The Mk8 does have a fat ***** though...

Obviously the Mk7's dash is dated by todays standards but I quite like the design of the facelifted one.
Scottyghia
Mk8 in St-Line / ST only Mk7.5 ST is a good looking car too. MK6.5 ST still my favourite.
BlueMike2021
I've owned an early (58 plate) Mk7 and now have an early (67 plate) Mk 8. When I first saw the Mk8, I was behind one in a queue, wondered what it was in front of me with the lights I didn't like, and was gobsmacked that it was the new Fiesta. However, they started to grow on me and when time came to change cars I was more than happy to get one. I think if really really pushed now I would say that I still prefer the rear lights on the Mk7, but everything else inside and out on the MK8 is far superior. Especially the way the top of the side window line flows into the shape of the light/bootline. But then again the horizontal lights are more of todays look. I think with the current one they could have added a honey comb effect into the rear lights. Like this

I kind of liked the Mk8 more when it was revealed and now not to sure about it lol. But then again the sporty versons look nice.
Kieran67
Guessing this is the Mk8.5 in the Zetec & titanium trims.

Looks like a Titanium with the optional extra alloys from the price list I've seen. Time was, the Titanium was pretty high spec, now it seems it only gets manual a/c and steel wheels as standard, unless you go for the Titanium Vignale. Zetec was dropped from the range some time ago. Mk 8.5 starts with Trend then Titanium.

Jim H
Even though I have a Mk8, I prefer the exterior look of the the Mk 7.5 especially the front. However the interior is very dated and certainly prefer the Mk 8's one.
jace1969
I like the inside of the MK8 but i own the old MK 7 2911 titanium for 8 years and still love it,im a bit hit and miss with the outside looks of the MK 8.
Ryan_Tango
Didn't like the MK8 at first but got rid of my MK7 last month, best thing I did, I think the MK8 looks miles better, nicer drive and just all round a better place to be

I like that verson especially in the 3 door, reminds me of the toyota mr2(the lights). Think the pre-facelift looks ancient though even compared to the first focus. TimST2
I'm warming to the Mk8, but I still think the Mk7 ST has more agressive styling.
statts
I prefer mk7.5 to mk8 tbh. Mines the titanium x with optional full leather and 17" wheels which you can't get on mk8 titaniums together. on pre-facelift mk8's you had to get the vignale which in my opinion was very expensive for a fiesta. Mines now 7 years old, I have owned it since 2 and 1/2 years old. Just sailed through MOT so I have decided to keep it a bit longer. Normally only keep cars 3 years but had this one for 4 1/2 years and never let me down. The only thing I don't like about it is the fuel economy but that's something I have to live with. Kieran67
I agree the titanium use to be the 'posh' model, they looked very smart. Zetec was such a unique name and holds a lot of nostalgia I guess so it seems a bit strange to drop it for the generic trend name. The wheel designs on the standard zetec use to be nicer as well, I mean considering the one on the left is from 10 years ago, it still looks decent. The one on right is the recent equivalent. I saw some like this before buying mine and the wheels are very smart on those. Yeah might as well keep what you have if thats the case. Have you got the 1.0 ecoboost with it? I'm very impressed with this engine, the torque is very abrupt at 1400 rpm especially in the higher gears. Really takes off if you put your foot down, whats your mpg like? DaveT70
The 8 is a far, far superior car to the 7,6,5,4,3,2 etc There isn't a single thing on the 7 that is better than the 8. The 8 is actually better than the Focus 4 in certain things too. Definitely the best and probably last Fiesta ever made.

Hi Yes mines the 1.0 ecoboost with 125bhp. Fuel economy is around 32-33mpg but engine doesn't get up to temperature when I am in it.
