Battery is probably dead

If you have a multi meter and battery is punching out 12.4v or more, could be a jammed starter motor. In the olden days, I would have then given it a sharp thump with a hammer, a practice probably now frowned upon LOL

Wait, no Maypole recommendation? 馃槷

Starters are generally buried so deep in the bay now that they're not accessible, but giving them a tap with the aid of a wooden block is still a perfectly reasonable suggestion if you can get to it!

With the ignition OFF, put the car in 3rd gear and try pushing (rocking) the car backwards and forwards a few times. It the starter is stuck it should free it but to be honest with more modern starters they don't get stuck like the old units when the worn bendix end used to get jammed.聽

Don't you have any neighbours with cars? Simply park bonnet to bonnet, connect red to red first, then black to black, run donor car at about 3000 Rpm, then start your car. Remove leads carefully in reverse order. Oh, just realised this was hours ago, you'll be sorted now!

They were going to use the European colours but it didn't work very well. Connect brown to brown, and blue to bits聽馃ぃ
