Fuel pump issue?

Featured Replies

At our witts end with this Ranger. It cuts out intermintantly, possibly more when on a slope. Codes pointed to fuel pump, new pump fitted, same issue, sent pump back to be tested independantly, came back good, refitted, same issue. Auto electrician tried to find issue for 3 hours, nothing. Any experts out there that can help? Its an old truck but apart from that is absolutely fine. It runs and idles nicely, sounds smoothe. After it cuts out it wont start until left to sit for a while, then starts on button. Shame to break it as its a perfectly serviceable truck without this issue.

Should be in the passenger footwell I think. You can bypass the cut off switch by bridging a connection over it too to cancel it out so you know if it's faulty or not.

Have looked all around in the front passanger footwell, and behind the glove box, but can't find it anywhere. Is there anywhere else it could be?

Thanks

Ed

Won't have a fuel cut-off switch on a diesel.

I take it the fuel filter has been replaced?

Oh yeah my bad! Sorry was thinking of my car. Must've been lacking in caffeine that day.  Some do have an inertia switch though.
