Baz52
Hi Guys, Fitted a towbar to my June 2020 Fiesta last year. Been towing my small trailer to the local tip without trailer lights working. Now want to wire it up to be legal. Have bought a relay unit. What I want to know before I start is "does anyone know if there is a permanent live wire already in the loom from the fusebox to the rear of the car". If so what colour is the cable and what fuse number is it in the fuse box. I don't want to wire an independant live from the front of the car to the rear if there is one already available. I know I may have warranty problems if I do this but the car is 2 years old now so not too concerned. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist. agraham
Fitting trailer plug wiring properly to a modern car is not as simple as in the old days. To do the job properly you need an additional electronic box to communicate with the car body module and control the lights. I'd suggest you speak to a specialist and not just hack into the looms with extra wires. https://www.pfjones.co.uk/ford-fiesta-hatchback-with-trailer-prep-07-2017-onwards-7-pin-pf-jones-dedicated-wiring-kit-19060569pf.html
unofix
Not forgetting that the above kit will require the BCM to be programmed to know the trailer module has been fitted.
