Kevin Padfield
I’ve recently had the service done on my Ford Focus there was no service book with the vehicle when I bought it and have been told it’s all done online. I asked my local garage about this but he’s unable to record it. Is there anything else I can do or shall I just keep receipts as proof instead. Half of the dealers are still stamping books and the other half doing it online. I'm lucky that a book came with my 2019 car and when it was serviced Arnold Clark stamped the book and six months later they have yet to update the service history on the Ford website. I'd contact Ford Customer Relations and ask for them to send you a service book, or get the service recorded on the Ford website. Due to data protection laws, garages can not pass on service invoices if it shows details of the owner.
alanfp
Simplest solution is keep the detailed receipts, I would say. I have a stamped service book, but I also keep all receipts in the same folder as they state when 'additional items' are done e'g' brake discs, pollen filter, fuel filter etc.

The sad thing is if at anytime the car gets sold via a garage they will throw all the paperwork away (data protection).
