Does 2011 (60 plate) Fusion 1.4 TDCi Have DPF?

I think the title says it all ... ?

Seen a 2011 diesel Fusion with very low mileage, but I'm put off of diesels because of horror stories heard about DPF faults.  Does anyone know if this model has a DPF, and opinions on Fuson diesel reliability in general, please.

Cheers!

A "1.4 TDCi"  is a 1000 times more reliable than a "1.0 Ecoboost"

Interesting question.  Many Fusion questions can be answered using Fiesta knowledge, but by 2011 the Fiesta had moved on to a whole new model.

I suspect it will have a DPF but don't know for sure.

As for 1.4 TDCI reliability, it's the same story with most diesels of that era...EGR valves and fuel injectors.

We ran a 1.4tdci Fiesta for 80k, and only engine fault was an injector seal.

No mentin of a DPF in Haynes, or in a Fusion Owner's Manual.

Fusion is a great versatile car, we have had a 2010 1.6 Petrol for 9 years, now with over 82k on the clock, call it the Tardis.

Worst fault - intermittent door lock micro switch.

You'll have to excuse the formatting there! :whistling:  But it looks like the 1.4 TDCI Fusion never did come with a DPF as standard.  Although you could have one retrofitted if desired!

I've checked build spec of a couple on Ebay/Autotrader too...  It seems that 1.4 TDCI Fusion's were only ever produced on Euro 4 emissions regulations.  I'm not quite sure how that worked, as new registrations should have been E5 compliant from early 2011, even if built before then.  But there must be some loophole there!
